Jed Legion 2 Tweedmouth Amateurs 119/11/2011
This was a dissappointing display from the Amateurs, whos passing game deserted them all over the park. Jedburgh did well having lost their last seven games and they were first to everything while the Amateurs looked lethargic and flat footed.
It was Jed who took the lead from the penalty spot after a long throw in and Phillips who was judged to have handled. Then came the only bit of football the Amateurs could muster up all afternoon, when Clarks through ball put Moore in behind the Jed defence and his cross was met well by Cromarty whos left footed shot found the bottom corner.
There wasn't any improvement in the second half and the Amateurs got what they deserved, when from a corner a Jed forward out jumped three Tweedmouth players to score what was proved to be the winner.

Tweedmouth Colts 4 Kelso Thistle 419/11/2011
Tweedmouth Colts played host to Kelso Thistle on Saturday and it was the Colts who started the brightest, Purves with a smart turn played Henderson through who crossed for Patterson to head home. Williamson set up Cumming's spectacular goal which was rounded off by his trademark celebration. Kelso pulled one back just before half time, although the Colts had been playing some of their best football of the season.
The Colts came out of the traps in the second half, going into a seemingly comfortable 3-1 lead through Patterson's second of the day. Some decisions which on another day could have gone the other way and a silly, slack ten minutes saw Kelso pull two goals back and draw level. The Colts took the lead again through David Brown's driven strike from the edge of the box, but Kelso pulled one back through some slack defending of a corner.
This was the performance of the season for Tweedmouth, but for a ten minute spell which cost them 3 points.

Selkirk Victoria 4 Tweedmouth Amateurs 412/11/2011
Tweedmouth travelled to Selkirk and on a difficult and muddy pitch came away with a point, but it could have been a lot worse for the Amateurs who were down to the bear bones.
Selkirk got off to a flying start scoring in the first five minutes from a long throw which the Amateurs couldnt deal with. Tweedmouth created a few chances but had problems finding the target.
The second half started bad for the Amateurs because within ten minutes they were four nil down and looking very sloppy, but Cromarty lifted his team with a right foot drive into the corner of the net, and a few minutes later Aitchison found the net and the Amateurs began to believe they could get something from the game. Aitchison got his second and his teams third and Selkirk began to panic plus their legs had gone.
Cromarty got on the end of a Colquhoun cross to make it all square and was unlucky not to get on the end of a Moores cross to win it, these are just a few of the chances Tweedmouth created and the goals they conceded were soft, but the fight back in the last fifteen minutes was outstanding.

Tweedmouth Colts 0 Lauder 112/11/2011
Tweedmouth Colts narrowly lost out to Lauder on Saturday, but not for a lack of trying.
The Colts started off the brighter, winning a penalty which was then saved from Clark; Henderson got to the rebound only to see it remarkably saved by the Lauder goalkeeper. Tweedmouth piled on the pressure and were unlucky when Grieve hit the bar from a towering header.
The second half saw Lauder find a goal against the run of play from what looked like an offside position. Tweedmouth pushed on, Patterson hitting the post and then scored only to see it ruled out for offside. The Colts piled on the pressure but couldn't find the break through they deserved.
Tweedmouth can hold their heads high after this performance which was a complete turn around from the previous week.

Tweedmouth Colts 2 Earlston Rhymers 305/11/2011
An all round disappointing performance saw Tweedmouth come away with what they deserved at Earlston on saturday, which was nothing.
Though Tweedmouth started the stronger, playing some real eyecatching football and taking the lead through Jordan Clark. This should have been the platform for the young Colts to build but instead they collapsed; Earlston equalised after some sloppy play. James Cumming volleyed home to put the Colts 2-1 into the lead, but the football didn't improve. Before the half-time break Earlston scored twice to take the lead without reply. The second half saw very little change in performance from the Colts, creating a few half chances but lacking the football which has won them so many games earlier in the season.
This was an unacceptable performance from the Colts, and before they left Earlston they were left in no doubt what is required of them.

Ancrum 1 Tweedmouth Amateurs 005/11/2011
Yet again the Amateurs bowed out of a cup at the semi final stage, although the result went Ancrums way, Tweedmouth were the better team and the Ancrum coaches and players knew it, but all their compliments after the game doesn't change the score line.
The Amateurs attitude was spot on and from the start they took the game to Ancrum. Bain and Cromarty played well in the midfeild and the back four dealt well with anything Ancrum could muster up, leaving goal keeper Richardson with very little to do. Colquhoun was causing big problems for the home defence, but when he found space in behind the back line he opted to shoot when a square ball to Clark would have left him with an unguarded goal.
Aitchison was just inches away from one of Clark's crosses but just on half time came a goal from a corner which was headed clear and Ancrum midfeilder hit an unstoppable left foot volley from twenty five yards which flew into the top corner.
In the second half again Tweedmouth pressed but couldnt find the net. Aitchison had a shot just wide. The Ancrum keeper pulled off a good save from a Youngs effort and Robertson was just short of connecting with a Young cross. With all the chances Tweedmouth create they have to start finding the net more because it will cost them dearly over the season.
Chirnside Colts 0 Tweedmouth Amateurs 429/10/2011
This was the performance that Clark and Roughead were looking for from the Amateurs after the previous weeks disapointing 1-1 draw against Chirnside.
It was Chirnside who had the first chance in the first five minutes, but their forward dragged his shot wide. After this it was all Tweedmouth with Clark and Colqhoun making life difficult for the home defence, but it was Aitchison who was the first on the scoresheet when a mix up between the home defence left him room to find the bottom corner. Then on the stroke of half time from an Aitchison corner, Gibb rose above the rest to and with a powerful header he put his side two up.
The Amateurs continued to put the pressure on in the second half and got their just rewards when Clark's shot went under the home keeper. Stand in keeper Paulson had to be on this toes and pulled off a good save, putting the ball around the post after a good shot from the Chirnside striker.
Man of the match Matty Moore got his reward for a teriffic performance securing the points for his team curling his shot around the home keeper. Tweedmouth seen out the last fifteen minutes comfortably.

Tweedmouth Colts 2 Winton 429/10/2011
Tweedmouth exited the Collie Cup at the semi-final stage but can keep their heads held high after a very gutsy performance which on another day would have seen them coast through quite comfortably.
The young Colts started the brighter and deservedly took the lead when a speculative David Brown effort from 25 yards sailed over the Winton keeper and into the back of the net. Tweedmouth continued to press but were met with stubborn resistance from the Winton goalkeeper and against the run of play, they equalised.
The second half started with Tweedmouth continuing to press and create numerous chances, but it was Winton who took the lead. Tweedmouth responded within minutes when Henderson showed great skill on the wing and crossed for patterson to slot home. The Colts squandered further chances to put the game to bed but Winton scored their 3rd with a great effort from the edge of the box, leaving Cain in the tweedmouth goal with no chance. Their 4th and final goal came from a penalty when Jack Ramsay handled the ball in the area.
The young Colts were a credit to themselves and the club on a day when luck deserted them.

Tweedmouth Colts 3 Gala Athletic 322/10/2011
A reality check was in order for Tweedmouth as they played Gala Athletic, a team which they had previously scored 14 past in two games.
Although Gala started the stronger Tweedmouth were the team to take the lead through David Brown and then Tommy Dixon put daylight between the two teams; complacency was evident from the first whistle and even more so when Gala clawed two back in two minutes.
In the second half the Colts started marginally brighter but it was Gala who took the lead, and deservedly so. This sparked the Colts into life as they battered the Gala goal for the last 15 minutes, eventually equalising through a spectacular, curled effort from Mark Purvis.
Complacency and lack of sticking to the gameplan cost the Colts on the day, but taking nothing away from Gala, if the Colts don't up their game for the semi final this weekend they could see their cup run come to an end.

Tweedmouth Amateurs 1 Chirnside Colts 122/10/2011
Tweedmouth made it seven games unbeaten, but to many draws could cost them come the end of the season. The Amateurs just didnt turn up for this game which turned out to be very scrappy. Give Chirnside their due they battled very hard and deserved a point but they were helped by the Amateurs who gave away the ball cheaply and couldnt string any passes together.
Robertson got into double figures for the season when his looping header over the advancing keeper put his side ahead, a lead they managed to keep until 10 minutes from time when from a corner Chirnside levelled after a forward found himself having plenty of space and time to turn and find the net.
Tweedmouth are away to Chirnside next week and will need to play better than this.
